Marias by Kelly Chen in response to reading, "The Marias of Brazil"
This painting was done as a response to the feeling of incompleteness the woman in the piece must have felt before looking into the mirror and seeing herself as a woman, not just a housekeeper. From the left side to the right side, the painting reflects the change in her self-image.
Two Marias, Augusto/Paolo, and Ibram by Welling Hall Set design by Ryleigh Beloin & Welling Hall in response to reading, "The Marias of Brazil"
The short play in one scene is designed as a response to Augusto Boal's work in imagined conversation with Paolo Freire, Vaclav Havel, and Ibram X.Kendi.
Untitled by Chloe Hannum
This creation was inspired by the representation I have of myself in a way to show how far I have come but also how far I still have to go. And to be excited about life and a free spirit.
Untitled by Aidan Krow in response to reading, "The Marias of Brazil"
This is how I responded when asked how I feel about our world.
A Yard Sign Cycle by Welling Hall
This poetry cycle was written in response to a prompt to write about injustice. I thought it would be meaningful to write a cycle of poems inspired by the yard signs that say Love is Love, Women's Rights are Human Rights, Science is Real, Black Lives Matter, and No Person is Illegal. The poems in the yard sign cycle reflect five different styles of poetry: free verse, sonnet, limerick, black out poetry, and haiku.
